Wordsmith Medical Writing was founded in 2019 by Abigail Shetler and has been serving clients all across the world ever since! Over the past few years, the company has grown to include a select group of highly skilled individuals. Education: BA in English, Professional Writing and Minor in Spanish from the University of Delaware.
Awards and Certifications: uniQure Individual Award Recipient, Incyte Corporation Individual Award Recipient, Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS) certification, Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification, American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) membership.
Professional Highlights: Abigail has extensive experience in global electronic Common Technical Document (eCTD) submissions; regulatory medical writing and quality control of regulatory documents; industry best practices; and technology and software. She provides a unique perspective due to her experience working with small to large companies in industry (e.g., Sponsors, Contract Research Organizations [CROs], software vendors). In addition, she has helped set up the medical writing departments of several pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Abigail enjoys developing training materials and delivering training sessions, including several webinar partnerships with Ideagen and PleaseReview.
Jamie Dermatis, DPM is a physician with experience in medical writing and editing, specifically in the regulatory, scientific publication, and medical communication sectors. With her extensive medical background, keen eye for detail, ambition, and adaptability, Jamie provides valuable knowledge and a unique perspective that are well-suited for a broad range of medical writing needs.
Julie Chatigny, DPM, is a board-certified pediatric physician with a strong focus on ensuring accuracy and clarity across complex medical content. With extensive experience in clinical practice and research, Julie has contributed to oncology and infectious disease studies and now specializes in medical writing and quality control. Her expertise spans regulatory documentation, scientific research papers, and medical communications.
